‘Tis the Season for Backyard Parties and Crawfish Boils
You don’t have to be around me long to know I have a huge heart for hosting. It’s actually one of the things I love most about wedding planning. Creating a space for friends and loved ones to gather is not only one of my favorite things about holidays and each of life’s milestones. But, I’ve found over the past couple years that it’s my way to serve and love on my people well. I’ve fallen in love with the conversations to be had and the memories to be made over a great meal, a drink, and a lovely occasion. When Rob and I got married, we knew we wanted to build our home as a place for everyone to gather. We wanted our home to serve our loved ones and be a place that everyone loved to be. (I guess you could say I’m like Monica from Friends – HA!)
This weekend we hosted a small crawfish boil for some friends from church. The day was filled with so much friendship, delicious food, and a fun space for it all. Needless to say, my hosting heart was itching to put it all together when the topic of hosting was brought up weeks ago. We were sitting at brunch after church one Sunday, and everyone fell in love with the idea of a crawfish boil as a way for us all to hang out outside of our small group. Knowing me, we stepped up to volunteer as hosts. Everyone chipped in for the crawfish, and we provided rest. I spent my Friday running errands, searching for the cutest party supplies, and cooking the yummiest goodies. Y’all, it turned out so cute – I can’t wait to share it with you below!

This party was so easy to put together!
While it may look extravagant, it was actually really easy to put together. Not to mention, it was so cheap! As a planner who loves to host in her home, I already had the serving dishes for my own dining room. Really, the only expense was the food and these festive party goods. They were amazing finds and perfect for seasonal gatherings that you don’t want to break the bank. Everything I didn’t have in my home already I got at Dollar Tree and Target for under $100. In fact, it was less than $75!

Spring and Summer are the perfect seasons to kick back with your friends and family while hosting a backyard get together. Now, there’s no excuse for you to not channel your inner Monica and make your home a place to gather this backyard party season. Needless to say, I am already itching to stock up and get ready for our next gathering. If these photos don’t inspire you to plan your own fiesta, I don’t know what will!
