Other than the chilly weather that hurricane Irma brought as she moved through Georgia, yesterday was really the first day that it felt remotely like Fall in Northwest Georgia. While I highly doubt the fall weather is going to stick around for long just yet, it reminded me of God’s goodness in the changing of seasons – whether in nature or in life. One of the things I love about Powersheets is that I get to visually see my journey through each and every month. While goals may change and a path takes a curve, it’s awesome to watch God work in my life as a constant. September was one of those months filled with a lot of change. Not only did I celebrate another year of life. But, I also celebrated the launch of my new brand just last week.

I went into September with a lot of mixed emotions. Don’t get me wrong. There was definitely a lot to be excited about. I was turning 24, I was on a path toward a more healthy lifestyle, and I was working through the logistics of launching a new brand. (How exciting!) But, when it comes to launching a new brand, there’s a lot of anxiety that I let plague my mind. I found myself constantly asking, “What if…?” in the wake of all my prayer. After all, you know what they say. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Needless to say, it was probably the perfect month to have had Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst on my reading list.
There’s an abundant need in this world for your exact brand of beautiful.

Instead, I found myself especially grateful for the love and support that I do have from people believing in me and what I’m doing. Most importantly, though, I was thankful for the path that God had me on and how He planned to use me over this new season. While I wasn’t yet sure exactly what that would be, I had a feeling that God had something big up his sleeves.
Thus, in the midst of my re-brand, I found myself in the middle of a heart change. I fell in love with the verse of 1 Peter 4:10 and used it as the basis of my brand’s new philosophy of living simple, loving generously, and hosting with heart.
“Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Ultimately, throughout the month of September, I decided to stay focused on what mattered most. While I may have let some of my weekly goals fly into the wind during the planning and transition phases of my re-brand, I decided to to choose grace over guilt. After all, my lack of presence on the blog and social media not only eliminated a lot of stress. But, it also allowed me to approach it again later with a refreshed spirit while continuing to flourish in my quiet times and health journey.

Looking Forward to Fall
Looking forward to this new season, I find myself feeling refreshed and ready in what feels like a new beginning. Not only is it officially pumpkin spice season. (Christmas is tomorrow, right?) But, with every day we are one step closer to our new home. Throughout the month of October, I plan to continue a lot of the same action steps on my tending list that I’ve had since I started this journey in order to continue cultivating those ongoing goals. New goals on my Powersheets tending lists consist of a longer non-stop running distance, meeting with new creatives to expand my circle, and cultivating new content for the Cathy Nugent blog. On another note, today marks exactly two months left until our half marathon race day. While, I couldn’t be more proud of how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time, there’s still so much progress to be made.
Maybe (just maybe!) I’m turning into a runner after all…
Let’s grab a virtual cup of coffee. What are your goals for October? I’d love to hear about your Powersheets progress in a comment below. After all, we’re all in this thing called life together.
