Mountain Elopement Inspiration
Do you ever meet those people that you immediately click with? Not just in a sense that you get along. But rather, this person just ‘gets’ you. For me, I think one of those people would be Amber of Gossett Photography. Like long lost friends, we connected last fall after her move to the Atlanta area. In reality, I actually had met her when I was a competitive dancer back in Texas years ago and we never realized it until we were swapping stories over Mochas and Cinnamon Rolls. (Y’all, that’s a whole other crazy story for a different day!) Meanwhile, it’s hard to believe that it was almost a year ago that Amber and I sat down at a coffee shop and were discussing the wild ideas we had. One of them being an Arabia Mountain Elopement.
Arabia Mountain Elopement
For those of you who don’t know about Arabia Mountain, it’s a granite monadnock (isolated and exposed rock hill) similar to Stone Mountain located a little east of Atlanta. With its incredible 360 degree views, the peak of Arabia Mountain is the perfect spot for sharing vows and having a quiet, romantic moment to toast and celebrate your love while you’re feeling on top of the world. I fell in love with Arabia Mountain after planning this photoshoot, and it’s still one of my husband and I’s favorite spots to hike when the southern weather gets dreamy.
Wild at Heart
I must say, this styled shoot will always have a special place in my heart. And, it’s not just because of the amazing photographs that Amber was able to capture or the gorgeous intimate picnic set-up that I was able to design and style. Having eloped myself (read my story, here) I can relate to the exciting feeling of adventure that comes with it.
Amber and I really wanted to capture the exciting and adventurous feeling that some couples crave when it comes to leaving the traditional behind and running towards their future with the one whom their soul loves and longs for. We wanted this styled photoshoot to portray a free spirit hidden under the couture and glamour – a bride trading her wedding heels for hiking boots and leaving her glamorous ballroom wedding behind to run away with her groom, showing that it’s not the couture gown or decor that makes a wedding. But rather, the wild spirit and love that a couple shares are what truly matters.
I couldn’t have been more happy with the way that it all came together. From Beautiful Wild Design‘s organic bouquet and flower crown that captured the free spirit of our bride, to all the thoughtful details that helped tell the story through photographs, it was simply perfect. A huge thank-you to these amazing vendors below for helping me bring this vision to life!
